MCC men tangle with two top 25 foes in Idaho

WIN FALLS, Idaho – The College of Southern Idaho (ranked No. 23) handed the MCC men an 84-75 loss in the Thanksgiving Classic Saturday.

MCC led at the half 39-35, before losing for the 11th time in 12 games this season. Eight of those losses have come to teams ranked in the NJCAA top 25. The College of Southern Idaho improves to 7-1.

Because of a computer malfunction, statistics from the game were not immediately available and MCC Coach Jacob Brandl did not make the trip to Idaho due to illness.

Snow blows past MCC men

TWIN FALLS, Idaho – No. 13 Snow College defeated the McCook Community College men Friday 100-60. MCC led briefly by four points 3:05 into the game but the Badgers lit it up shooting 61.8 percent in the first 20 minutes on the way to a 52-24 half-time lead. MCC Coach Jacob Brandl did not make the trip to Idaho due to illness.

The Badgers made 14 of 31 shots from the 3-point line (45.2 percent) for the game including an eight-for-15 showing in the first half (53.3 percent), made four of eight free throws (50 percent).

MCC shot 37.7 percent from the field, was seven of 27 from the 3-point line (25.9 percent), made seven of 11 free throws (63.3 percent), and turned the ball over 22 times which led to 22 Snow College points.

Julian Lual (Calgary, Alberta) led MCC in scoring and in rebounding, posting 19 points and nine boards. He made three of six 3-pointers and had four offensive rebounds.

Damien Perry (Wareham, Mass.) scored 14 points including two of four 3-pointers. Beni Fungula (Stockholm, Sweden) scored 12 points, and led MCC with four assists and four blocked shots.

The team from Ephraim, Utah out-rebounded MCC 47-31 and came up with 17 in the offensive end. The Badgers had four players in double-digits, led by Wyatt Lowell with 23 points.

Snow College improves to 7-1.
