McCook bowlers win quad, host district Monday
McCOOK, Neb. — McCook finished up the regular season of bowling with a huge home win in their quadrangular on Monday against Cambridge, Ogallala, and Southern Valley.
The team of Caleb Shaw, Dylan Rouse, and Joel Miller recorded the High Baker’s game of 199 for the day.
The team then traveled to Grand Island to compete in the Grand Island Northwest tournament on Tuesday.
McCook’s team of Caleb Shaw, Ethan Graff, Dylan Rouse, and Jarett Walter recorded a 6 game baker game of 742. The team of Allen Holliday, Ian Brown, Isaac Nielsen, and Jonas Sommerville had a six-game series of 588.
McCook’s No. 1 team was placed in the Gold Division and McCook 2 in the Silver Division.
First round games saw McCook 1 losing to Norfolk in a thrilling contest 157 - 124; 133 - 186; 115 - 202. McCook 2 also struggled losing in the first round to York JV 128 - 155; 138 - 83; 98 - 116.
“It just came down to us not closing frames when we needed to. It has been a great season and I have enjoyed everyone of these student athletes,” coach Lynn Kinne said.
McCook will host the B-5 District on Monday at 11 a.m. in TJ’s Family Fun Center for a chance to participate in the State Unified Bowling Tournament in Lincoln on December 6.
