McCOOK, Nebr. - Elevate Wellness and Physical Therapy has “hit the ground running” according to McCook Chamber President Brandi McConnell, which was part of the reason the chamber board chose the business as the fourth quarter honor business. A large gathering of chamber members gathered Tuesday to present the honor and congratulate owner Dr. Emily Young, PT, DPT, CLC, and her staff.

The business opened in late February 2021, and has grown to provide additional services to clients, as well as hosting a Harvest Gathering and 1 mile/5K run in October for the benefit of the entire community.

Dr. Young introduced Mariah Pierson, who is providing occupational therapy services through the clinic. Pierson told the gathering that she is passionate about pediatric occupational therapy, so they have begun a division called “Elevate Littles”. “We are working with kids of all ages from birth to 21 on anything that they need; any skills that they need to work on to be successful in their everyday life,” Pierson said. Pierson said she can also work with adult and geriatric patients and she has a special certification for working with Parkinson’s Disease patients.

The clinic has also added speech therapy services through Jess Kerchal. She staffs the office on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., although her hours are flexible to meet the needs of patients.

During November, Elevate is sponsoring a food drive with a twist to benefit the pantry. The twist gives donors who bring in a non-perishable food item the opportunity to choose a staff member to complete a one-minute plank or a one-minute wall sit.
