Broncos, Longhorns fall short in district finals

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. —Wauneta-Palisade and Chase County lost district volleyball finals to finish their seasons on Saturday.

The Broncos finish 16-14 as they dropped a 25-19, 25-23, 25-12 decision against 21-9 Wynot at Grand Island Northwest High School.

No Bronco individual stats were obtained from this D-2 district final.

Chase County’s terrific 26-5 season ended with a 25-13, 25-23, 25-16 loss to Pierce at Elm Creek High School.

The Pierce Blue Devils take a 27-5 record into Class C-1 state starting on Thursday.

Junior Bryn McNair blasted 13 kills for the Longhorns.

Senior Jerzee Milner totaled 24 assists.

Junior Joee Clevenger hustled to eight digs for Chase County.
