Fairboard asking for loan
McCOOK, Neb. — With the county budget nearing finalization, Red Willow County Commissioners will hear a request Monday from the fair board for a loan to cover the 2021 fair.
Fair Manager Jiles Bowman is on the agenda at 9:45 a.m. with a request for a $92,000 for this summer’s fair.
McCook Public Works Director Kyle Potthoff is on the agenda at 9:30 a.m. to discuss the city’s $1 a year lease of ballfield property on the county fairgrounds. Although the fairboard had already approved the lease, it was discovered that the lease is actually up next year.
A number of resolutions related to the 2021-22 annual budget are on the commissioners’ agenda. They involve increasing the base of restricted funds by an additional 1%, setting the budget and tax request and transferring funds from the general fund to the road-bridge and self-insurance funds, and transferring $300,000, as needed, from the inheritance fund to the general fund.
The consent agenda includes a hazard mitigation agreement, roadway occupancy from Great Plains Communications, a special liquor license for Loop Brewing Co., a request for a .gov domain, the closing of the county K-9 fund, and an interlocal agreement with Furnas County for a Veterans Service Officer.
