Daniel Alan Kinkade

Aug. 4, 1979 - Sept. 4, 2021

McCOOK, Neb. — Daniel Alan Kinkade, 42, most commonly referred to as Danny, passed through the pearly gates on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021...Heaven was not prepared for Danny.

He is survived by his parents, Kelly and Kathy Kinkade; brother, Brian (Jackie) Kinkade; grandparents, George and Peggy Pearson; and the sweetest daughter a guy could ask for, Jayda Rochelle Kinkade.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dave and Peggy Kinkade.

Danny was born in McCook on Aug. 4, 1979, to Kelly and Kathy Kinkade.  He spent much of his youth on the family’s lands north of McCook, providing assistance on the farm wherever needed, riding motorcycles with his buddies and holding frequent social gatherings. Danny graduated from McCook Public High School in 1998 and moved himself to Lincoln, Neb., where he would continue his education in the “School of Hard Knocks,”as he liked to put it.

Danny was always a hard worker and lived with a spirit of entrepreneurship from a young age, with his lawn mowing business that his grandfather helped start.  He joined the construction industry, specializing in seamless gutters and roofing.  This path continued for a 10-year span when a call to return home arose.  A few years after his return, Danny fathered his daughter and his pride and joy, Jayda Rochelle Kinkade on Sept. 21, 2011. She was his Number 1 responsibility and care in the world.  They would spend much of their time playing outdoors, fishing, helping Grandma with her garden and taking Papa’s money playing 4-point pitch on a weekend evening.

Danny knew no stranger.  Blessed with the gift of gab, he could make an acquaintance in any given environment, and some of those acquaintances turned into life-long friends. He was always playing the big brother role that quickly evolved into the Uncle Danny role with the children of his close friends. Danny was also a motorcycle advocate.  He began his two-wheeled journey at the age of two and continued this affinity throughout his life, along with his father and brother.  He enjoyed riding to visit his buddies in the Curtis, Neb., area. Most wouldn’t know it, but Danny had a bit of a green-thumb.  He was known for gifting plants and took special care of those passed down by his elders.

Danny will be truly missed by his friends and loved ones.  We will continue to honor and cherish his memory through his daughter, Jayda.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook.  The family will be present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday morning, Sept. 9, 2021, at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook.  Cremation will follow services and a private family scattering will take place at a later date.

Memorials may be given to the family of Danny Kinkade for future designation.  Online condolences may be left at herrmannfh.com.
