TRENTON, Neb. — Betty J. Robison, a longtime resident of Trenton, passed away Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at Community Hospital in McCook from injuries sustained in a car accident. She was 86 years of age.

Betty was born on May 19, 1935, to Willis “Jim” and Helen (Ganshorn) Hidy at the “Hidy Basement” on the family farm near Trenton. She attended school in Hitchcock County and graduated from Trenton High School with the Class of 1953.

On July 3, 1953, Betty married Cornie Robison in Trenton. The young couple made homes in Kansas, Minnesota, and Montana, before returning to Trenton in 1957. Cornie and Betty were blessed with a son, James.

Betty was devoted mother and a life member of the Church of Christ in Stratton. She crocheted, enjoyed playing cards, and spent countless hours caring for and growing her flowers. She especially enjoyed taking care of her “second family,” her treasured and spoiled chickens. Betty worked part-time at the nursing home as well as at the school cafeteria. She will be fondly remembered and truly missed by everyone that she knew.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Cornie, in 2002.

She is survived by her son, James “Jim” (Twylla) Robison of Trenton; brother, Benny (Judith) Hidy of Trenton; and her extended family and friends.

Visitation is today, Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021, from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in Trenton. 

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday morning, Sept. 8, 2021, at the Church of Christ in Stratton with Randy Hayes officiating. Interment will follow services in the Trenton Cemetery.
