Rita Louise Wimberley Wallace

OAKLEY, Kan. ó Rita Louise Wimberley Wallace was born on July 22, 1959, to Twyla Lowe and Ralph Wimberley. Rita did not have an easy life. She left home at the age of 14. From the age of 14, she was on her own traveling the United States. She married Robert Wallace on Feb. 11, 1978. They had a son, Ross, on Nov. 17, 1978. Rita thought she wanted to venture the world. She and Bob divorced. Rita worked with a carnival for years. In 1982, Rita found her way back to McCook. She and Robert married again on April 15, 1985. They had a daughter, Rose, on March 29 1985. After a couple of years, the Gypsy in her (as she would say) got in her blood and she left again. She and Robert divorced again. She married a few more times but she always loved Robert deep down. Robert always loved her too, they just always had a connection but could not be married. They both parted this life loving each other as much as they did from day one.

Rita passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 12, 2021, at her home in Oakley.

Rita had a love for her grandchildren and was very proud of all of them. She loved to sew and crochet, bake, and spend time with loved ones.

Rita was preceeded in death by her mother, Twyla, in 1990; her father, Ralph, in 2011; grandparents on both sides; brother, Chris; and love of her life, Robert, in 2016.

Rita is survived by son, Ross (Andrea) Wallace of McCook, daughter, Rose (Steven) Gerard of McCook; brothers, Bruce Wimberley of Bonnets Mill, Mo., and Mike Lowe; sister, Kim Graff of Oakley; grandchildren, Kasandra, Marie, Jayden, Eli, Sidney, Reese, Travis, Dakota, and Chantell; sister-in-law, Sue Manley of McCook; numerous nephews, nieces and a host of friends.

Rita was cremated and burial will be graveside at the love of her life Robertís grave in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook on Sept. 4, 2021, at 3 p.m., with Zane Hall officiating.
