Pool players just miss rolling on to Las Vegas
NORTH PLATTE — The McCook area doubles teams of Shonda Jacob and Bryan Smotherman, as well the duo of Roemello Grier and Eric Skeen came up just short of advancing to the American Poolplayers Association’s (APA) 8-Ball Doubles Championship in Las Vegas after falling in their semi-finals matches of the 8-Ball Doubles tournament held recently.
Both teams received a cash prize for their third-place finish.
Once in Las Vegas, 8-Ball Doubles teams compete in a field of 768 teams and for a share of over $76,000 in prize money.
Players that advance to the APA World Championship receive paid entry fee/greens fees, a generous travel allowance and complimentary lodging.
