VALENTINE, Neb. — Class B No. 1 Alec Langan reached 30-1 and won a championship while leading the McCook Bison in Southwest Conference wrestling action on Saturday.

Langan didn’t continue his McCook High record of consecutive pins, but still domainted Class B No. 4 Keifer Anderson by a 9-2 finals count at 220 pounds.

“Langan almost pinned the kid from Broken Bow,” coach Nick Umscheid observed. “Alec is wrestling at a high level right now and is always looking to score and get the pin. This is not good news for his opponents.”

Senior Talyn Campbell captured his first SWC title at 120 when he also dominated three foes.

Senior Tate Felber nearly knocked off Class B No. 3 Isaac White at 152 while senior Reid Steinbeck and freshman Cadde Beeby reached title matches.

“Reid can beat him if he just mixes up his offense a little more,” Umscheid concluded.
