Bison JV wrestlers place in Perkins Invite

GRANT, Neb. — McCook High’s younger wrestlers earned nine top four places with three taking second at the Perkins County JV Invitational on Tuesday.

A rundown of all the best Bison matches:

132B — Wyatt Meyers, MC, placed second. He won 10-5 over A. Chestnut, Gothenburg; pinned E. Tiede, GOTH, in 2:19.

182 — Layten Carpenter, MC, placed second. He pinned Jose Campos, MC, in 2:43; pinned Campos in 3:43.

285 — DeAndre Berry, MC, placed second. He pinned C. Butterfield, North Platte, in :16; pinned T. Krab, North Platte, in 1:46; and pinned H. Taylor, Perkins County, in 1:57.

106 — Wyatt Felzien, MC, placed third. He pinned C. Hester, Mullen, in 2:00; and pinned C. Hilding, North Platte, in 4:31.

152B — Layton Bortner, MC, placed third. He pinned H. Taylor, Perkins County, in 2:27.

170 — Keegan Reece, MC, placed third. He pinned O. Thorberg, Mullen, in :43; and pinned A. Steffens, Maxwell, in 4:43.

126 — Matt Herron, MC, placed fourth. He pinned D. Geho, Paxton, in 2:40; wrestled C. Carrizales, Hershey, to within 8-6 of winning.

182 — Jose Campos, MC, placed fourth.
