Unbeatens invade McCook for games tonight

McCOOK, Neb. — The new year tips off in fine style with Broken Bow’s 9-0 girls basketball team visiting McCook for a varsity doubleheader in MHS.

McCook (5-5) and the Bison boys (4-5) are both coming off strong 2-1 performances at last week’s Sidney Cabela’s Holiday Tourney.

MHS girls coach Amy Schiel offers these remarks about Bow:

“Broken Bow is a very good aggressive team that presses the entire game. We will need to handle their press so they don’t get a lot of easy baskets off steals. They also do a good job rebounding the ball because they shoot a lot of threes and the ball comes further off the rim on the rebounds so we will need to make sure everyone on the team is rebounding. Our girls are coming off a nice win against Chase County and we handled teams presses at Sidney so hopefully we continue to keep learning and holding our composure. I’m very pleased with how our girls are progressing we are getting a lot of the sophomores and juniors playing time which is going to make our team deeper at the end of the season.”
