ELWOOD, Neb. — Mildred Elizabeth “Mick” Dawson, 103, of Elwood, formerly of Arapahoe, Neb., died Saturday (Nov. 21, 2020), at the Elwood Care Center in Elwood.

She was born Sept. 24, 1917, in Oxford, Neb., to Joseph and Anna (Haffey) Hays.

She married Vaughn Dawson on Sept. 24, 1937, in Arapahoe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn; her parents; brothers, Jim, Joe (Jean) and Bill Hays; sisters, Katherine (Dale) Bartruff, Bernice (Farrell) Dawson, infant Elsie Marie, Lois (Lowell) Dawson, Suz (Hiram) Walker and Tess (Duane and Max Becker) Moor.

Survivors include her sisters-in-law, JoAnn Hays and Ruby Martin.

Visitation is today, Nov. 24, 2020, until 8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Chapel in Arapahoe. Services are Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020, 2 p.m., at the St. Germanus Catholic Church of Arapahoe with the Rev. Kenneth Wehr officiating and will also be live-streamed on “Wenburg Funeral Home” Facebook page. Interment will follow services at the Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe.
