MRNRD board eyes alleged water violations

CURTIS, Neb. -- The Middle Republican Natural Resources District planned a special meeting at 12:45 p.m. today to review evidence for potential violations of the Nebraska Groundwater Management and Protection Act and MRNRD Rules and Regulations.

The alleged violations were by Shirley Nisley, Ashtonfield LLC., Ulrich & Brown LTD, Virginia Brown and Merlin Brown, and Bryan Hauxwell and Ami Hauxwell.

The hearing was set for the Curtis Community Center, 201 Garlick Ave. in Curtis.

An executive session was slated following the hearing, as was an item listed as approval for staff to issue notices of intent to issue cease-and-desist orders.
