CURTIS, Neb. — Audrey Ann (Bryant) Cole, age 88, of Curtis, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, at Stone Hearth Estates in Gothenburg, Neb.

Audrey was born Aug. 11, 1932, to Joseph and Bessie (Pickering) Hupf in Beverly, Neb. She was one of five children born to this union. Audrey attended school in McCook, graduating from McCook High School with the Class of 1951. Audrey was also a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, where she was confirmed.

On May 7, 1955, Audrey married Wayne Bryant in Indianola, Neb. The couple made their home north of Indianola and were blessed with three children: Jerry, Steven and Barbara. Audrey worked alongside Wayne on the family farm, milking cows and raising chickens. She was an amazing cook and gardener. Audrey enjoyed doing crafts and loved to dance. She drove the school bus and was a custodian at Republican Valley Schools for over 25 years.

Later in life, Audrey met Harvey Cole of Curtis. The couple married on May 1, 2006, and enjoyed many wonderful years together. Audrey’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert and Don Hupf; brother-in-law, Carl Nielson; and granddaughters, Erin and Erica Bryant.

Those left to celebrate her life include her husband, Harvey Cole of Curtis; sons, Jerry (Chris) Bryant of Lincoln, Neb., and Steven (Cathy) Bryant of McCook; daughter, Barbara (Michael) Esch of McCook; twin sister, Delores Nielson of Grand Junction, Colo.; brother, John (Sharon) Hupf of Riverton, Wyo.; sister-in-law, Doris Hupf of Cozad, Neb.; grandchildren, Jeremy (Shannon) Bryant of Bennington, Neb., Jennifer (Josh) Brown of Omaha, Neb., Jason (Bridget) Bryant of North Platte, Neb., Lindsey (Chad) Stewart of Indianola, Jillian (Tyler) Hamburger of North Platte; Jonathan (Morgan) Bryant of North Platte; Matthew (Kelsey) Esch of McCook, Joanna (Jordan) Krenik of Kearney, Neb., Lanay (Waylon) Christen of Anselmo, Neb.; Jordan Bryant of Lincoln, Jarod Bryant and fiancée, Cassandra Thompson of Omaha; Jaden Bryant of Lincoln; step-grandchildren, Sarah (Chuck) Schroeder and Matt Sherman, all of Lincoln; 26 great-grandchildren; Harvey’s children, Beth (Larry) Fletcher of Kearney, Roy (Judy) Cole and Rex Cole, all of Curtis; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, step-grandchildren, extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020, from 5-7 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, McCook. Recitation of the Rosary will follow visitation, beginning at 7 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 23, 2020, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, McCook, with Father Gary Brethour and Father Brian Wirth as Celebrants.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, McCook.
