SV Eagles win wild match over Whippets; RPAC today

STAMFORD, Neb. — Freshman Ann Best's 14 kills powered the Southern Valley Eagles past a terrific match with Minden 23-25, 26-24, 25-23 on Thursday evening.

Junior Krista Best blasted eight more kills during a rare battle where every set was decided by two points.

The Eagles kept their footing with five double-digit diggers as junior Aubrey Brown made 19, Best 14, Bose 12, sophomore Jessica Lambert 12 and another 11 from junior Ashlyn McAtee.

Brown (13) and McAtee (12) nearly equally divided 25 assists.

Southern Valley gained momentum for the RPAC tournament which begins today at various sites. The Eagles will take on Alma in Cambridge High School following the Trojans' 4 p.m. contest against Arapahoe.

Alma edged the Eagles 21-25, 25-22, 25-18 during Thursday's triangular.

Bose blasted 17 kills while joining Lambert in serving two aces apiece.

Best made three stuff blocks besides her own seven lethal shots.

McAtee made 16 more digs to go with 15 each from Best and Bose.
