BENKELMAN, Neb. — Ruth Mae Crow was born Nov. 18, 1936, at Chillicothe, Mo., to Earl and Lillian (Harms) Dickson. As a young girl she moved with her family to Elsie, Neb., where Ruth completed her education, graduating from Elsie High School.

In 1953, Ruth married Lester D. Pursley in Trenton, Neb., where the couple settled before making Stratton, Neb., their home. Ruth gained employment with the Miller Manufacturing Company, as well as working for the TRW Company at McCook, Neb. She had many hobbies, including fishing and gardening. Later in life, Ruth married Rodger L. Crow of Stratton.

Ruth passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 28, 2020, at the Sarah Ann Hester Memorial Home of Benkelman. Ruth was 83 years of age.

Survivors include husband, Rodger Crow of Stratton;

sons, Rodney Pursley, Lester Pursley, of Oberlin, Kan., and John Pursley (Pam) of Stratton; grandchildren, Eric Phifer, Sable Phifer, Crystal Pursley, Timothy Pursley, and Amanda Pursley; half sisters, Linda Booe of Lincoln, Neb., Reeka Erlewine of Grant, Neb., Shirley Brown, Ruby and Evelyn; half brother, Theron Thaden; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester; daughter, Carol Phifer; and son-in-Law, Larry Phifer.

Cremation was chosen, memorial services will be at a later date.
