Pam Gaston, owner of Pet Pros in McCook, gives participants of “Dog Park 101” tips on understanding their dog’s behavior when they are socializing with new friends at an off-leash dog park. Meanwhile, the four-legged participants anxiously awaited their opportunity to work off some energy off-leash at the Alice Arena at the Red Willow County Fairgrounds Sunday afternoon. Another session will occur on Tuesday, Feb. 18 from 6-7 p.m. for small dogs and 7-8 p.m. for large dogs. A free-will donation will be collected to use for the K-9 Korner off-leash dog park to open soon in McCook. Dogs must be on a non-retractable leash for the beginning of the session, and they must be current on immunizations.
