Buffs' streak rumbles to 10, Broncos win
AUNETA, Neb. — The winning streak reached 10 with Rawlins County (Kan.) Buffaloes rumbling past Wauneta-Palisade, 59-45, Tuesday evening.
Senior Kristen Beckman clearly didn’t mind a change in time zone as she buried four three-pointers before the first quarter ticked to its conclusion.
Beckman ignited a 20-13 lead which the Northwest Kansas Legue champions never requilinshed.
Rawlins County (12-5 record) is 10-0 since the calendar flipped to 2020. Coach Deone Horinek’s team has not lost since facing powerhouse Hoxie, Kan., on Dec. 20.
Freshman Cali Cox scored most of her team-high 13 points in the second half for Wauneta-Palisade (9-12).
The W-P boys gained a split of this doubleheader and earned their 10th win, 64-32, over Rawlins County Tuesday.
Sadly, no individual scoring was obtained. The Broncos took a 24-4 lead over those 2-16 Buffaloes.
