TRENTON, Neb. — The Dundy County-Stratton Tigers ended Paxton's 14-game win streak with a 54-51 RPAC semifinals win Friday night at Hitchcock County High School.

Paxton (14-2 record) had not lost since a Dec. 7 season opener to Anselmo-Merna.

The Tigers could have tied Friday's contest after DC-S missed its final free throw with six seconds remaining.

However, good defensive pressure shook the ball loose while time expired.

The DC-S Tigers (15-2 record) advance into Saturday's 7:45 p.m. title game against Southern Valley (12-3) at McCook Community College's Graff Events Center.

Both finalists knocked off No. 1 seeds as No. 2 Southern Valley defeated No. 1 Alma, 39-32, at Bartley Friday evening.
