Falcons deliver big win, Buffs beat Red Devils

TRENTON, Neb. — Senior Kass Kisker poured in 27 points to lead the Hitchcock County girls’ 65-35 victory over visiting Paxton Tuesday evening.

Classmate Shaye Porter contributed 14 more points as the Falcons pulled away from a 17-13 first quarter.

Senior Neliegh Hauxwell (eight points) and Kailee Kolbet (six) added another 14 for the 8-4 Hitchcock team.

The Falcons dropped Paxton to 2-11 this season. No other details were obtained before today’s deadline.

Rawlins 61,

Decatur 50

ATWOOD, Kan. — The Rawlins County Buffaloes avenged an opening one-pont loss and earned a 61-50 Northwest Kansas League tournament win over Decatur Community Tuesday evening.

Kiesrstyn Domsch and Kristen Beckman both scored 16 points for the victorius Rawlins girls, according to an interpretation of this official game scoreboook.

Sadie Sramek added eight points with six each from Abby Singhateh and Libby Mosley.

The Buffaloes overcame an impressive 22-point effort from Decatur senior Anna Carter.

Alyssa VanVleet and Erin May added 10 points each with Van Vleet hitting a pair of three-point shots.

Loomis 55,

Southwest 29

BARTLEY, Neb. — Freshman Bailey Truksa reached double figures with 11 points though the Southwst Roughriders slipped to 4-9 Tuesday evening.

Freshman Caylin Barnett netted nine points followed by senior Jadyn Brooks (four), freshman Bailey Clements (three) and junior Haylee Adams (two).

The Loomis girls improved to 9-4 this season.

Barnett pulled in eight rebounds and Brooks delivered three assists for other Southwest highlights.

Truksa blocked a pair of Loomis shots.

Axtell 46,

Arapahoe 28

ARAPAHOE, Neb. — Visiting Axtell held the Arapahoe Warriors to 19 percent shooting in the win Tuesday evening.

Senior Terri Hilker did score 10 points for the Warriors (2-11 record).

Sophomore Hope Koller put in six points, sophomore Tracy Roskop and senior Adrienne North three.

Koller collected 10 of Arapahoe’s 34 rebounds with Roskop securing another six.

Most of the area teams are preparing for RPAC tournament play which begins on Saturday in Curtis and Maxwell. Watch for pairings on Thursday.
