Garages lead local building activity
McCOOK, Neb. — New building in and outside the City of McCook in October came to $47,300, led by two new garages with estimated construction costs of $30,000.
Inside the City of McCook, a total of $32,300 of estimated construction costs took place in October; outside city limits, $15,000, according to the City of McCook building permit report for October.
A 30 by 30 foot garage was built in McCook and a 28 by 50 foot garage was built outside city limits, both estimated at $15,000 in costs.
Other construction inside city limits in October were: demolition, garage, $500; commercial neon wall sign, $2,000; residential car port, $3,500; and three residential roofings and one front awning, $11,300.
Total estimated building costs for 2019 is $23.4 million for the City of McCook and Red Willow County, with $2.4 million outside city limits and $20.9 million within McCook.
Total amount of building permits/fees received by the city year-to-date is $30,494.06.
