Bison deliver sweet Senior Day victory

Thursday, October 10, 2019

McCOOK, Neb. — McCook High’s tennis boys made the most of remaining warm weather and beat North Platte, 3-1, in a shortened Seniors Day home dual on Wednesday.

The Bison disposed of North Platte even without some top singles players in action.

Junior Mason Micahelis was ready with 6-0 wins while the top two Bison doubles teams only lost four games during four complete sets.

Seniors Logan Barenberg and Brandan Eckhart were both triumphant to continue McCook’s tradition.

Coach Matt Wiemers provided his usual strong insights:

“The team continued to play well. It is a goal to play well and pick up a win at home, especially on senior day.

The junior varsity close out the season with another win. They finish the season with a 8-1 duel record.

We have seen steady growth and continued improvement each week. We will return some talented players, but we challenged them to get out and play.

They have a bright future if they work at it and put tin the time on the courts.”
