Roughrider earns a shot at state golf

MCCOOK, Neb. — Southwest junior Kaylee Guerrero conquered a top 10 playoff and earned her Class C state tournament spot on Tuesday at Heritage Hills.

Guerrero tied for 1oth during the C-5 district tournament, firing 122 which matched Valentine’s McKallyn Bancroft.

However, Guerrero won the playoff to reach next week’s Class C state tournament at Lake Maloney Golf Course near North Platte.

Southwest teammate Alyssa Springer shot 132 for 15th overall and Cayleigh McConville fired 145 to place 25th.

Lauren Bailey’s 139 led the Dundy County-Stratton golfers competing.

Peyton Wise from Kimball scored a 10-stroke win for the title with her 88.
