BEATRICE, Neb. — Senior Corban Jernigan scored three touchdowns, quarterback Cam Berry topped 80 rushing yards and McCook's defense stood tall in a tight fourth quarter for Friday's 21-17 win over the Beatrice Orangemen.

Jernigan ran for a reported 135 yards with two TDs giving McCook its 14-8 halftime lead.

Beatrice twice moved inside McCook's 20-yard line during the fourth quarter, but those Bison defenders only allowed one field goal while also making a big fourth-down stand.

Jernigan's last TD made it 21-11 and McCook handled one late charge from 1-3 Beatrice.

Class B No. 7 McCook evens the record at 2-2 entering another road game at Lexington Friday night.
