Saints sweep through Chase on diamond
STAMFORD, Neb. — The Southern Valley-Alma Saints shook off their first loss on Tuesday to sweep Chase County, 10-0 and 11-1, Thursday afternoon.

SV-Alma 10-0
Abby Cervera didn’t allow a single run against Chase County, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity to a 10-0 victory.
The Saints got things started in the first inning. PJ Dubbs drew a walk, scoring one run.
SV/Alma notched four runs in the second inning. Kynlee Marquez, Cervera and Dubbsall drove in runs.
A single by Ansley Maronde in the second inning was a positive for Chase County.
Cervera pitched Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity to victory. She surrendered zero runs on three hits over four innings, striking out four and walking zero.
Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity hit two home runs on the day. Dubbs had a long ball in the second inning. Marquez put one out in the fourth inning.
Marquez went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Saints in hits.
SV-Alma 11-1
Kynlee Marquez was brilliant on the rubber on Thursday, as she threw a no-hitter to lead Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity past Chase County 11-1.
The Saints powered ahead home run by Janessa Kring and a single by Abby Cervera in the first inning.
Chase County didn’t commit a single error in the field. Morayah Cupp had four chances in the field, the most on the team.
