Husker, Trojan alum earns powerlifting honor

Former Cambridge High and Nebraska Cornhusker athlete Jami Kubik-Hagedorn was presented the Boyd Epley Award as Nebraska’s female Powerlifter Of The Year during Saturday’s home football game against South Alabama. Legendary Husker lifting coach Epley appears at left. Kubik-Hagedorn was Miss Nebraska Basketball during her stellar Cambridge High School career featuring two Trojan state team championships. She graduated in 1994 and went on to four years with the Cornhusker basketball program. As a senior, Kubik-Hagedorn delivered an NCAA Tournament double-double in Nebraska’s win over New Mexico. She is the daughter of Cathy and Morris Kubik.
