New resource officer assigned to MPS

McCOOK, Neb. — A new resource office is working at the McCook Public Schools District.

Luke McGinley, a police officer at the city police department, was introduced to the McCook City Council Monday night, by Ike Brown, McCook City Chief of Police.

Brown said the former school resource office was promoted, with McGinely stepping in to fill the position. He has completed training as a resource officer and will get his certificate for DARE shortly.

Consent agenda items the council approved unanimously Monday night were:

-- a special designated liquor license submitted by Outlaws 1882 Saloon,for a benefit - outdoor food event at its parking area at 1006 West B, on Sept. 7, 2019 from 11a.m.. to 11 p.m.

-- the mayor’s appointment of Caitlin Whitehead yo the Parks Advisory Board, to replace Elizabeth Yilk, term expires May 2021.
