Runners deliver a close 'Adventure'

Working through the mud pit is something that made Saturdayís Old Settlers Adventure Run unique in Indianola. The event was part of this yearís Republican River Fitness Series.

INDIANOLA, Neb. ó A few obstacles didnít deter nearly 100 runners and walkers at the Adventure Run on Saturday as part of Indianolaís annual Old Settlerís Celebration.

In itsí first year as part of the Republican River Fitness Series, the Old Settlerís Adventure Run included teaming up with a partner to run the race and do the obstacles - up until the end when it was a sprint between the two teammates to the end

The 5K event also included mud, water and activities to challenge the teammates as well as cover 3.1 miles.

Amanda Kahny edged her teammate Zane Sackett at the finish line to claim the overall title as well as the womenís 20-29 age division title in the 2019 Old Settlerís Adventure Race. Zane led the men and the 20-29 menís division. The results from each division:
