Colts shut down Ravens

McCOOK, Neb. — The Colts earned their second close win over Ravens this season, 6-0, McCook Football League seventh-eighth grade action Tuesday night.

Canyon Hosick’s 10-yard touchdown run during the second quarter proved to be enough Colts points.

On Friday, the Ravens held a 7-6 lead until Hosick’s late 12-yard TD journey made it 12-7.

Lincoln Michaelis added the PAT run i na 13-7 Colts win.

The Ravens slipped to 0-2 despite a second strong, determined effort.

The teams will collide one more time in their season finale at Weiland Field Thursday evening.

Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. to cap this tripleheader.

Season finales

The rundown of McCook Football League season finales at Weiland Field Thursday evening.

6:30 p.m. — Eagles vs. Cowboys fifth/sixth graders; 7:30 — Redskins vs. Rams fifth/sixth graders; 8:30 — Colts vs. Ravens seventh/eighth graders.

There will also be final practices tonight at 7 p.m. on McCook High’s practice fields.
