McCOOK, Neb. — The McCook Board of Education unanimously approved up to $24,743 as requested by Superintendent Grant Norgaard for administration salary increases.

Administration pay increases are based on superintendent evaluations and would range from a 2.5% to 2.7% increase, Norgaard told McCook School Board Monday night at the regular meeting.

The amount requested this year does not include the salary of the interim school psychologist, Norgaard said. He reminded the board that last year, administrative salary increases amounted to less than 2%.

The increase would affect 10 positions at the school district. Current salaries are:

High School Principal:  $118,060

High School Assistant Principal:  $85,171

High School Activities Director:  $99,355

Junior High High Principal:  $117,151

Elementary principal:  $88,500

Elementary Principal:  $108.872

SPED Director:  $71,209

Business Manager:  $120,000

The superintendent’s salary is $164,300 and is determined each year by the McCook School Board.

Also at Monday night’s meeting, the board unanimously approved job descriptions for all positions at the the school district, including teachers, administration, custodial and bus drivers.

Each description includes performance responsibility, required skills, education/experience and essential functions, among other categories.

Board president Tom Bredvick asked when the descriptions would be reviewed again in the future.

Brazell said the position descriptions are “pretty general” but if it’s a major change, or a new position, the description would be updated/added when it occurs.
