NORTON, Kan. Denzel Richard Lofgreen, 93, of Norton, died Saturday (July 6, 2019), at the Andbe Home in Norton.

He was born Feb. 22, 1926, to Burdge David and Ada Blanche (Porter) Lofgreen in Fruita, Colo., on Feb. 22, 1926. He graduated in 1943 at Beaver City, Neb. He served in the Merchant Marines in 1945.

He married Ruth Sawyer in 1945. He was a farmer/rancher.

He was a member of the Farm Bureau Board, the Chamber of Commerce, the Soil Conservation Board, the Norton Christian Church and the Prairie Dog Shrine Club. He was selected as Master Farmer of northwest Kansas in 1987.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Lofgreen of Norton; children, Denzel and wife, Joyce Lofgreen of Norton, Connie Lofgreen of Omaha, Neb., Dr. Craig Lofgreen of Lee Summit, Mo., and Jon and wife, Elaine Lofgreen of Norton; brother, Volney Lofgreen; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Victor Lofgreen; grandchild, Heather Lofgreen and great-grandchild, Jude Lofgreen.

Visitation is Friday, July 12, 2019, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Norton Christian Church in Norton.

Funeral services are Saturday, July 13, 2019, 10:30 a.m., at the Norton Christian Church in Norton with the Rev. Darel Boston officiating. Interment will follow at the Norton Cemetery, Norton.
