Lug Nuts win 15-14 tourney thriller

The Boutique Air Hot Rods and My Family Vision Clinic Lug Nuts chased a marathon victory in Minors League tournament play at Felling Field Tuesday night.

McCOOK, Neb. — Boutique Air Hot Rods’s effort to come back from down 10 runs in the third inning came up just short, as they fell 15-14 to My Family Vision Clinic Lug Nuts on Tuesday in the Minors League consolation action at Felling Field.

Boutique Air Hot Rods tallied 12 runs in the failed comeback. Aiden Lauer, Brody Anthony, Alec Vigneur, Anthony, Lauer, and Anthony powered the rally with RBIs.

Boutique Air Hot Rods was right in it until My Family Vision Clinic Lug Nuts singled in the seventh inning.

My Family Vision Clinic Lug Nuts got things moving in the first inning, when Kooper Rakes singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Boutique Air Hot Rods evened things up at 13 in the bottom of the fifth inning. Anthony singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Boutique Air Hot Rods notched six runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught by Boutique Air Hot Rods was led by Lauer, Anthony nd Vigneur all driving in runs in the inning.

Kooper led things off on the hill for My Family Vision Clinic Lug Nuts. He surrendered zero runs on three hits over five innings, striking out 13 and walking one.

Lauer was on the pitcher’s mound for Boutique Air Hot Rods. He lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing one hit and five runs while striking out two.
