Nuts hurl no-no; Mud Cats prevail

FELLING FIELD — My Family Vision Clinic Lug Nuts’s two pitchers didn’t allow a single hit, as My Family Vision Clinic Lug Nuts defeated Sports Shoppe Iron Birds 2-0 on Monday.

Wyatt Benes struck out Tripp Raile to get the last out of the game.

The pitching was strong on both sides.

Lug Nuts pitchers struck out 11, while Sports Shoppe Iron Birds pitchers sat down nine.

Kooper Rakes was on the hill for My Family Vision Clinic Lug Nuts. He went 2 1/3 innings, allowing no hits and striking out seven.

Rakes also hit a homer for one of the crucial Lug Nut runs.

Trevan Rundle started the game for Sports Shoppe Iron Birds. He allowed one hit and one run over two innings, striking out three. Tripp threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Rakes went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead My Family Vision Clinic Lug Nuts in hits. They sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.

Benes had the most chances in the field with eight. Drayvin Rammage raced to two of the six Lug Nuts stolen bases.

Cats 3, Rods 2

Boutique Air Hot Rods fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 3-2 loss to Pinnacle Bank Mud Cats on Monday.

Pinnacle Bank Mud Cats got things moving in the first inning. An error scored one run.

Asher Wilson got the start for Pinnacle Bank Mud Cats. He lasted 3 1/3 innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out nine.

Brody Anthony was on the pitcher’s mound for Boutique Air Hot Rods. He allowed two hits and three runs over four innings, striking out nine.

Beau Rodarmel went one-for-two at the plate to lead Boutique Air Hot Rods in hits.

They swiped seven bases overall.
