INDIANOLA, Neb.  — It makes Jennifer Johnson feel good that her mom's quilt material is going to good causes.

"This means so much to me," Jennifer said, explaining that Quacky Quilters of McCook will use quilt materials accumulated by Jennifer's mom, Laura Miller, and donated to QQ by Jennifer to make quilts for foster children who age out of the system, for emergency situations encountered by law enforcement officers, by the American Red Cross and for charity fund-raising events.

Jennifer decided upon Quacky Quilters to receive her mom's quilt material and supplies because they make the charity quilts, and also because, in exchange, QQ quilters will put a back on and machine-quilt Laura's hand-sewn queen-size quilt top.

Jennifer will present the finished quilt to Laura's nine grandchildren. "It'll be great for them to have a quilt from their grandmother," she said, and to know that her love of quilting and her quilt materials will warm the hearts of so many deserving people.
