McCOOK, Neb. — Jeri and Dick Collicott of McCook have purchased Lisa Wilcox's "New Life Christian Book Store" in downtown McCook, and as of April 1, it became known as "New Life Christian Store and So Much More."

As the new name implies, the Collicotts are enhancing the store's amenities to include a "man cave" of men's gifts and a "book nook" for readers, and Dick is designing and building a new counter with room for two registers. They will also offer essential oils and a selection of locally-handcrafted crosses and American flags.

The opportunity to purchase the Christian book store intrigued the Collicotts, who knew that the store would work well with the seasonal schedule of their taxidermy business, Collicott Taxidermy. That business will continue, preserving their customers' deer, elk, antelope, small and large mammal, coyote, bobcat and bear hunting trophies.

While some things are changing at New Life, others are not, and the ever-popular laser and laser-able merchandise will remain, as will the store's focus on Christian merchandise. Jeri said, "Customers have told us they're glad the Christian focus will continue."

"New Life Christian Store and So Much More" is located on McCook's downtown bricks at 212 Norris Ave. The phone number is (308) 345-6889.

The store's hours are Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.; it is closed Sunday.
