Falcon boys soar highest in area at Atwood

ATWOOD, Kan. — The Hitchcock County Falcons were flying high whether it was high jumpers, hurdlers or throwers at Friday’s Rawlins County Invitational.

Bradyn Hutto ran his fastest 110-high hurdles while Aaron Oberg unleashed his strongest shot put throw ever.

Together, they joined high jumper Dionte Perkins as champions for a Falcon team that finished fourth among seven teams competing in sunny, 75-degree weather.

Hutto placed in three other events to lead Hitchcock’s 55-point effort. He also recorded his all-time fastest 300-meter hurdles time.

Decatur Community, Kan.) finished fifth overall with James Garner earning the Red Devils’ highest place (second) by running his fastest 100-meter dash.

Kelby Garrett ran his fastest 300-hurdles. He helped the D.C. 1600-relay take third.

Rawlins County’s four boys teamed for 23 points. Marvin Sanchez and Eddie Hanson recorded personal bests.
