PAXTON, Neb. — A pair of double-double Hitchcock County girls helped conquer triple overtime against Maxwell Thursday evening.

Kass Kisker totaled 16 points-14 rebounds while Shaye Porter added 12 and 19 for the 72-69 RPAC consolation game victory.

Senior Charli Apple also scored a team-high 20 points to help the Falcons (13-3 record) shake off their West semifinal overtime loss to Maywood-Hayes Center on Tuesday.

“We let them (Maxwell) back into the game in the second half. They got hot and hit several threes in the fourth quarter,” Falcons coach Mark Brown explained. “Both our posts fouled out, som freshmen Lindsey Rippen and Aimee Merrill came through for us.”

Senior Kyleigh Scott contributed some tremendous free-throw shooting in the third OT.

She totaled 13 points and nine assists for the Falcons.

“(Senior) Amanda Horinek had a strong defensive game inside,” Brown added.

The Falcons continue on without senior guard and leader Allison Hoyt.

Hoyt suffered a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of this season, the coach confirmed.

The Falcons aim for another win when they host Rawlins County (Kan.) on Tuesday.
