GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Cambridge’s girls dominated Fullerton, 49-35, as junior Korynn Clason scored 28 points in the Grand Island Central Catholic Holiday Tournament consolation final Saturday night.

The Trojans (5-4 record) took charge quickly with a 16-3 first quarter. They shook of the sting from Friday’s 73-32 loss to tourney host GICC (8-1 record).

Clason buried nine of 15 shots (60 percents) to give Cambridge a good finale for 2018.

Another eight Trojans each hit at least one shot with senior Jenna Ebbers and Claire Craig scoring four points each.

Maria Jauken added three while Erin Witte, Schyler Hoberty, Cali Gunderson, Chloe Craig and Rylee Cross tallied two points each.

Clason’s six steals also led a defense that swiped the basketball 13 times.

Cross took down six rebounds to lead the Trojans.

Against GICC on Friday, Clason scored 24 of 32 Trojan points.
