McCOOK Neb. — Norma Jean Boner, age 88, of McCook, passed away at the Hillcrest Nursing home in McCook on Dec. 25, 2018.

She was born in McCook on Aug. 26, 1930, to William and Mildred (Lepper) Koetter. Norma attended and graduated from McCook High School in 1948.

On June 24, 1950, she was united in marriage to Robert “Keith” Boner in McCook. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2016. The couple made their home on a farm 12 miles northeast of McCook.

Norma enjoyed her farm life, raising a big garden and canning, raising goats along with many other farm animals. She embroidered many pillow cases along with other items to give to family and friends. The death of her beloved Chihuahua/terrier dog, Sam, was hard for her. Norma was a member of the Better Aims Extension Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith; granddaughter, Lindsey Dawn; brother, William Koetter; and sister, Muriel Campbell.

Norma is survived by her son, Robert and wife, Linda Boner of Indianola; two daughters, Linda and husband, Scott McConnell and Sharon and husband, Joel Bedore, all of McCook; eight grandchildren, Jason and wife, Kelly Boner, Michelle and husband, Andy Schmidt, Stacey and husband, Ryan Kot, Jared and wife, Becky Brush, Julie and husband, Josh Parde, Melanie and husband, Ryan Bradley, Kyle and wife, Michelle Bedore, and Ryan and wife, Alex Bedore; 17 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kiersten, Jacksen, Colten, Abigail, Ethan, Milan, Morgan, Sydney, Cooper, Ryder, Madison, Kycen, Kreed, Pearson, Jennings and Brody; two sisters, Mary and Harry Lebsack of McCook and Millie Koetter of Seneca, Neb.

Friends may leave online condolences at herrmannfh.com. Visitation was Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018. Memorials may be left in her name to the McCook Humane Society.

Funeral services are 3 p.m. today, Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel with Jim Jones offering words of comfort. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
