CAMBRIDGE, Neb. — Claudine Shifflet, age 95, passed away at the Cambridge Manor in Cambridge on Sept. 9, 2018.

She was born on the family farm in Frontier County, Neb., near Afton, on April 28, 1923, to Claud and Lois (Pyle) Shifflet. Claudine attended country school, later attending the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis. She then went to Kearney State Teachers College for two years and received a certificate of Normal Training.

Claudine was a lifetime resident on the family farm in Frontier County. As a lifelong cattlewoman, she enjoyed her Hereford cattle, naming each one. She also loved her many kitty families. She was an avid follower of her nephews’ accomplishments, keeping newspaper clippings of all their events. Claudine resided on the farm until health concerns made her move to the Assisted Living Facility in Cambridge in 2002.

She is survived by two nephews, Burnell and wife, Michelle Shifflet and Kim and Kris Shifflet, all of Cambridge; six great-nephews, Tyler and wife Wendy Shifflet of Cambridge; Coleton and Mandy Shifflet of Arvada, Colo.; Gunner Shifflet of Cambridge; Spencer and fiance’, Katie Shifflet of Holbrook, Neb.; Chase Shifflet and Tyra Redenbaugh of Cambridge; and Lance and Lisa Shifflet of Cambridge; along with 10 great-great-nieces and nephews.
