McCOOK, Neb. — Nobody packed a 1-2 Cattle Trail punch like Arapahoe’s boys in the closest quarterfinal game Tuesday evening.

Junior Yordi Gutierrez tallied 26 points which led all boys’ first-round scorers and senior Carson Schroeder netted 15 points.

The duo matched Hitchcock County, 41-41, which meant three other Warriors had to deliver.

Sure enough, Nolan Meyers added another three points while Triston Abraham tossed in two.

Jaden Smith added one free throw to help put the Warriors (1-1 record) into Friday’s championship semifinals against Wauneta-Palisade. The Falcons slipped to 0-2.

ARAPAHOE (47) — Yordi Gutierrez 26 points, Carson Schroeder 15, Nolan Meyers 3, Triston Abraham 2, Jaden Smith 1.

HITCHCOCK (41) — Darian Hutto 16 points and Dionte Perkins added nine for the Falcons.
