Welcoming a favorite son

The writer and producer of “Civil War Voices,” Jim Harris, right, returned home Wednesday for a triumphant presentation of the musical he wrote in the early 2000s. After the show — which inspired a standing ovation from the crowd of 200-plus at the historic Fox Theatre — Jim was greeted on stage by three of his many McCook friends. Gathering for a stage front chat were, from left, Jayne Lyons, Linda Clark, Cloyd Clark and Harris. Earlier Wednesday, 500 McCook High School students filled the Fox for a matinee performance of the Civil War classic.
