Dr. Dale Burdette Riepe

MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas — Dr. Dale Burdette Riepe, 79, was born on Dec. 23, 1938, in Oxford, Neb., to Benhard and Jennie (Haussler) Riepe.

Dr. Riepe attended grade school in a one-room country school south of Arapahoe, Neb. He later went on to high school in Arapahoe, graduating in 1956. He studied at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and University of Nebraska School of Medicine in Omaha, graduating in 1963. He interned in Ogden, Utah, for a year before entering the United States Navy. For two years, he served as a ship doctor on the USS Talladega during the Vietnam War. In 1966, Dale began general practice in Oxford, Neb.

On June 10, 1967, Dale and Evelyn Alice Eisenhart were united in marriage in Culbertson, Neb. They later had three sons born in Oxford. In 1975, Dale returned to the United States Navy and spent three years in a radiology residency at the naval hospital in San Diego, followed by a year at the naval hospital in Bethesda, Md. In 1979, the family moved to Mount Pleasant, Texas where he worked for many years as a radiologist.

Dale passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and his family was very important to him.

Dale is survived by his wife of 51 years, Evelyn; sons, David and wife, Kari; son, Kent and wife, Stacey and son, Joel; brother-in-law, George Eisenhart and wife, Barbara; grandsons, Jackson and DecLan Riepe; granddaughters, Audrey and Olivia; nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, at the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
