Falcons sweep into today's RPAC semis

HAYES CENTER, Neb. — Hitchcock County’s feisty Falcons advanced into the RPAC semifinals with a 25-19, 25-18, 25-17 win over West No. 2 Maywood Hayes-Center Monday evening.

The No. 3-seed Falcons will get a shot against West No. 1 Dundy County-Stratton today (3 p.m.) in McCook Community College’s Graff Events Center.

The M-HC Wolves (14-9 record) swept Paxton 25-12, 25-15, 25-9 to start tourney play on Monday as Maci Sorge served eight aces.

Junior Jaycee Widener drilled 15 kills while classmate Avery Johnson made two stuff blocks.

Setter Karlie Gerlach delivered 15 assists.

The Falcons also won their RPAC tourney opener but no details were obtained.
