INDIANOLA, Neb. — Viewers of “Heartland Bowhunter” on the Outdoor Channel Monday, Sept. 17, may spot Shawn Daffer of rural Indianola and his black-and-tan Bloodhound “Gus.”

Shawn said, “I’m not sure how much we’re in the episode, but the outfitter said to tune in.”

Shawn said he and Gus tracked a wounded deer for the outfitter in 2017, and he didn’t know anyone was filming him and Gus.

In this episode, show hosts Shawn Luchtel and Michael Hunsucker hunt with Heartland Pride Outfitters in western Kansas.

The Bowhunter episode with Shawn Daffer and Gus is set to air at 12:30 p.m. CT.

“Heartland Bowhunter” documents the adventures of the hunting team as they bowhunt the Midwest for anything from whitetail deer to Canada geese in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, South Dakota and North Dakota.

Outdoor Channel is an American pay television channel focused on the outdoors, hunting, fishing, Western lifestyle, off-road motorsports and adventure.

Shawn and his wife, Chareese, (and their daughter, Makenna) own C&S Bloodhounds, and Shawn, Gus, Miss Annie, Dixie and Tracker track and recover deer shot by hunters who have lost the trail of a wounded animal.
