MCCOOK, Neb. — Week two of 2018 won't rank far behind all the best McCook Bison playoff games during recent years.

Trailing Grand Island Northwest 21-0 a minute before halftime, the Class B No. 3-ranked team rallied for an incredible 35-21 victory at packed and wild Weiland Field Friday night.

Senior Paxton Terry shook off two fumbles to score three touchdowns with the third catching those No. 7 Vikings 21-21.

Junior quarterback Cameryn Berry then darted and dashed for a go-ahead score in quarter four. He later threw a clinching TD pass to senior DJ Gross.

Senior Alec Bunger made a huge leaping end-zone interception that erased another potential Viking score. Berry also recovered one fumble inside the Bison 10 when Northwest was treatening to make it 27-0.

Junior Joel Carter made one more key fumble recovery while senior Colin Giron and sophomore Alec Langan led a strong second-half Bison pass rush that rattled all-state Viking quarterback Carter Terry.
