NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — McCook High’s Megan Hodgson won two divisions and teamed with Elsa Wilcox for another championship during the recent Nebraskaland Days tennis tournament.

Hodgson swept through three opponents to take home the age 16 and 18 times.

She won 30 games total while losing only 10 with a key 10-3 victory over Aniston Menzano.

Wilcox and Hodgson then teamed for an undefeated doubles performance. The sophomores-to-be conquered their toughest match, 6-4, over McCook teammate Emily Laurie and former Bison player Sarah Dixon.

Dixon’s become a Central City Bison, but still strong tennis skills as she went 2-1 during both doubles and singles competition.

The Laurie-Dixon dynamite duo downed two opponents by 10-5 scores.

Their lone defeat was to Hodgson and Wilcox.

They’ll likely be challenging for varsity spots next spring on a McCook High team that finished Class B No. 3 in 2018.

The Bison were also Class B state team champions during 2017.
