McCOOK, Neb. — A McCook woman and her teenage daughter who were thought to be vulnerable and reported missing on June 6 have been found safe in California and have decided to stay there

The McCook Police Department received a report that Trisha Morgan, 41, and Winnifred Morgan, 16, both of McCook, were missing.

MPD detectives worked with the Nebraska State Patrol, Los Angeles Police Department Missing Persons Division and the California Attorney General's Office in the investigation.

Both were located in Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon, and a McCook Police detective spoke with both of them on the phone.

"They are safe and they chose to remain in California," according to a release from McCook Police Department Det. Larry Kinne.
