McCOOK, Neb. — The McCook Cardinals 10-and-under baseball team blanked Cozad, 3-0, on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.

Cason Waugh struck out Cozad’s final batter and completed the gem.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Brody Graham and Waugh teamed to strike out 12, while Cozad’s pitcher fanned four.

Graham was perfect for three innings, allowing no hits or runs and striking out nine.

Waugh, Trenton Raile, Tripp Raile and Simon Garcia each delivered one hit to lead the Cardinals. They also didn’t commit a single error in the field.

Trenton Raile had 12 chances in the field, the most on the team.

The McCook Cardinals followed this win with another shutout, 10-0, over visiting Cozad Tuesday night before rains swamped McCook’s Jaycees Complex.

Coach Chad Graham’s team has played six games since Saturday after playing in a Lincoln tournament last weekend.

The Cardinals shook off a 6-5 opening loss to Sandhills Thunder as they topped Millard United, 10-8; and Lincoln Blackhawks, 11-6. They did drop their tourney finale, 6-5, to 10U NBA Titans.
